BEANIES:

Most caps stretch a little with wear. How to properly wash a woolen cap and how to shrink it back? You will find it out here!

Washing:

Use liquid detergent for delicate linen and wool or I recommend using Lanolin. If you have more woolen clothes, you will appreciate this washing gel as well.

1. Dissolve washing gel in cold water. It doesn’t have to be ice cold, the ideal temperature is such that when you put your hand in the water, it doesn’t start to freeze you but at the same time you don’t feel any heat.

2. Place the cap in the water and leave it there without moving for about 5 minutes. Then you can gently “poke” it with your fingers, but do not rub or push too hard so that the fine yarn will not get damaged.

3. Prepare clean cold water and rinse the cap lightly.

Repeat 2-3 times.

4. Drying: definitely do not twist-wring the beanie, as this would change its shape. It is best to press it between a towel that absorbs excess water.

Complete drying: leave the beanie to flat dry on a clean, dry towel.

Shrinking:

You can repeat the same process as when washing, just pour a little warmer water. The warmer you pour it, the more the cap should shrink. So be careful that it doesn’t shrink completely. So I recommend first trying it at a temperature of around 30 to 40 degrees. You may also use washing gel when shrinking.
